The Contemporary Circus initiative, Started as a series of interviews with world leaders in Contemporary Circus, in June 2009.
We soon realized, there was much more to it, and that it is answering a need of a community, out there, scattered around the world, to connect, converge, share and empower its members worldwide.
It took us a few months to think of what form this initiative will take, and how it can grow into what it is requested to be.
We hope the result answers some of the wishes and needs that were expressed by the initial participants in this project. As you can see, this is only the beginning, and we look forward to getting more feedback and response from the community as it grows.
Our mission is:
-To have contemporary circus become a living conversation.
-To create a world community of professionals, connecting, sharing experiences, inspiring each other and joining forces to raise the awareness of audiences worldwide, to contemporary circus as a living, powerful evolving art form.
-We are looking for ways to serve this community to the best of our ability to grow and evolve, both professionally and artistically. But also, to raise audiences’ awareness to Contemporary Circus and what it can be in people’s lives.
-The founder of the Contemporary Circus Initiative is Orit Nevo.
-Founder and director of The Free Dome Project in Israel since 2001.
-Up to now we have been 4 people working to develop the concept of the initiative,
